Equinox offers seasonal, cosmopolitan fare in a relaxed and unassuming atmosphere. Pacific Northwest ingredients inspire new dishes and amplify classic combinations. Ambitious, affordable menus bring the urbane and the rustic together on plates, in glasses, and on chairs.
Our wine list and specialty cocktails enhance and compiment our cuisine, making Equinox a unique Portland experience. To suit our name and our commitment to evolution, Equinox's menu changes with every season.
Dine in our renovated industrial space or, when the weather is nice, outside in our landscaped courtyard.
At the helm of Equinox is Chef Scott McMullen. Scott arrived on the Portland food scene in 2002 after working at Chicago's Trio Restaurant under the guidance of Grant Achatz. He then landed at the Heathman where he worked under Norman Phillipe Boulot. Next, he ventured into the dearly departed Taqueria Nueve where he mastered their multi-regional cooking techniques. More recently, Scott has worked with House Spirits distillery and their mixology guru Ryan Magarian, creating liquid offerings that utilize some of Portland's finest spirits such as Aviation Gin and Aquavit.
Equinox was built using recycled building materials. We are also a member of PGE's 100% renewable energy program.
We are proud to be a part of the exciting and ever changing Historic Mississippi Avenue. Equinox is located at 830 N Shaver Street . . . just one door east of the corner of North Mississippi Avenue and north Shaver Street. Map
